: Golf event ‘The Match’ to return with Mickelson-Brady and DeChambeau-Rodgers pairings


Popular head-to-head golf event The Match is returning this July with a pair of elite golfers and Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks, Turner Sports announced.

Golfer Phil Mickelson, 50, will be paired with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, 43, and Bryson DeChambeau, 27, will be paired with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, 37.

The teams will play an alternate-shot match and compete for the lowest score. The event will raise money for Feeding America, among other charities.

Autotrader, Capital One

and DraftKings

will sponsor portions of the event.

Phil Mickelson is coming off a win at the PGA Championship and Tom Brady recently won a Super Bowl Championship, while Bryson DeChambeau won the 2020 U.S. Open and Aaron Rodgers is coming off an NFL MVP award.

TNT will exclusively televise the event on July 6, 2021.

The prize money for the event has not yet been announced.
