: Starbucks and Netflix partner for series tied to Netflix’s book club


Starbucks Corp. and Netflix Inc. announced the launch of “But Have You Read the Book?,” a series that will be available to view on social media channels and will feature content based on selections from the Netflix Book Club.

The show will be hosted by Emmy winner and “Orange is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba, and will focus on how books are adapted for movies and television shows. Aduba will go to different U.S. Starbucks

locations and talk with authors, cast members and others involved with these projects.

The first selection is “Passing” by Nella Larson, which will be available on Netflix

on November 10. The accompanying “But Have You Read the Book?” episode will be on Netflix’s YouTube and Facebook channels on November 16.

Starbucks stock is up 3.4% for the year to date. Netflix shares have gained 16%. The S&P 500 index

is up 16.2% for the period.
